The City of Danville’s Economic Development Department is accepting applications until May 30th for three summer intern positions (paid).

Marketing and Communications Intern
The Marketing and Communications Intern will support the development and execution of marketing strategies that promote the City of Danville’s economic development and tourism efforts. Responsibilities include assisting with the creation of social media content, drafting press releases, and helping to maintain the department’s websites and digital assets. Ideal candidates will have strong writing skills, attention to detail, and an interest in public relations or digital marketing.

Tourism Intern – Podcast Project
This intern will work on a special project in collaboration with the Tourism Manager and the Multimedia Manager focused on developing a podcast to complement the popular “Visit SoSi Fridays” Facebook series. Responsibilities include assisting with concept development, scripting, guest coordination, recording, and promotion of the podcast. This is a unique opportunity for a creative individual with an interest in audio production, storytelling, or tourism promotion to contribute to a new and engaging platform. Some travel within the region may be required for certain responsibilities.

Visitor Center Intern
The Visitor Center Intern will provide front-line support at the Danville Visitor Center, greeting guests, answering questions, and helping promote local attractions, events (including outdoor vendor events), and businesses. Additional responsibilities include restocking brochures, maintaining a clean and welcoming space, and assisting with special tourism-related projects as needed. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills and a passion for hospitality and customer service. Some travel within the region may be required for certain responsibilities.
